My Dry Skin Needs A Drink
If you follow my Instagram Stories, you know that recently I attended two press days where I checked up the level of my skin’s hydration. There is a chunky pen, better called as Dehydration Analyzer Tool, that pressed for few seconds on your cheeks, reveals how fine your skin is.
The result I got was horrible. A healthy and moisturised skin has a level of humidity around 50%. Mine was 20%.
I smiled at the beautician, while I screamed interiorly. I was really disappointed because I take care of my skin. I really do. I always use a good moisturiser and I drink a lot of water. But clearly it’s not enough and my skin urgently needs an extra drink.
These are the products that I’m currently using to try to re-equilibrate the skin’s hydration. It’s fun how they all have a blue and white packaging. I guess blue is the marketing colour for fresh and hydration.
CLEANSER.
I reviewed this cleanser on My Instagram (here and here). I was looking for a gentle cleanser because I didn’t want to use anything aggressive on my already suffering dry skin. Uriage cleanser is gentle, high-tolerance, fragrance free and hypoallergenic. It contains thermal water which I hope my dry skin will enjoy drinking.
MOISTURIZING ESSENCE.
It’s crazy how you realise how much you need this product in your life as soon as you start to use it. You start questioning what was your skincare regime before the Moisturizing Essence era. The one that I’m using is a new release from L’Occitane. It’s a new collection specific for skins that need an extra dose of hydration.
You apply the gel right after you washed your face, day and night, with light tapping motions. It absorbs in few seconds but it gives instantly a refresh feeling.
DAY CREAM.
I went on a hunt of a day cream which specifically boosted the hydration of my dry skin, had a light texture and had SPF. Neutrogena Hydro Boost satisfies all my requests. It’s ultra light and it has a non-greasy texture so it’s perfect to use as a base before the makeup.
NIGHT CREAM.
When I read “Ultra thirst-quenching cream” I knew I found what my dry skin needed. This L’Occitane cream is part of the newest collection, as well as the moisture prep essence. It contains thermal water and hyaluronic acid. Both of them should help the skin to maintain its hydration barrier. You can use this cream day and night. I prefer to use it in the night because it doesn’t contain SPF.

May 13, 2018Sometimes drinking too much water is not enough to moisturize skin. We would really need extra products to help us. These are all must haves.
