Where To Eat After A Long Shopping Session
There are two things that don’t miss in Qatar: malls for shopping and places where to eat. Fortunately, most of the time you can reach both destinations with one trip. So it happens quite often that you go in a mall, you spend at least three or four hours doing a frenetic shopping and suddenly you feel hungry. No, I mean, REALLY hungry!! (I’m a strong supporter of the idea that shopping is the hardest workout 🙂 )
Well, next time that this happens to you think about this post because I’m sharing with you a very good place where to chill after shopping!
Yesterday I was at Ezdan Mall and I was invited by Wagamama to try out the new menu.
Behind the rennovation of the menu there is the japanese concept called Kaizen that means “a good change“, “to change in better“. And this is what Wagamama did!
First, the menu changed phisically. The new version is much easier to read. Basically you have all food selection on one side and drinks on the other one.
Then the improvements include a new service style and new addictions to the range of dishes.
If you are a fan of Wagamama, don’t be worried. All your favorite choices are still on the menù. But, alongside, you can now taste the Yakitori duck, the grilled tuna and the grilled duck ramen. Mushroom onigiri and hirata steam bun are two new entries in the starter selection (and all other people who were with me agreed in voting the Hirata Steam Bun like the best thing ever!).
Personally I really enjoyed the starter selection. The chilli squid served with a spicy dipping sauce was amazing! As well as the steamed chicken dumpling. I tried Edamame too since I’m a big fan of this dish but I wasn’t particularly impressed with it. Not bad but nothing wow. Instead, what was really good was the chicken satay served with a creamy peanut sauce!
As main course I ordered Katsu Curry Grilled Chicken. Very good!! I wasn’t able to finish all the food in the plate because portions are huge. Something to keep in mind if you want to try many starters. You won’t be able to eat an entire main course by yourself.
I was ready to leave when a fantastic chocolate cake with wasabi topping came out from the kitchen. Sorry I can’t say no to chocolate!! The cake was delicious and if you are worried that the wasabi taste is too strong, don’t be. You can slightly feel it.
“no plan is usually the best plan. walk in not knowing what to have. it could be grilled tune. it could be yakitori duck. omakase means “to entrust the chef”. who better to trust than a chef?
let the omakase dishes do the work and try something new”
*You can find Wagamama Qatar at Edzan mall and Lagoona mall
