The Entertainment City In Doha
Two Saturdays ago we had a brunch with friends at Shangri-la Hotel. The hotel is located next to City Center Mall and behind the new Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC). The DECC is hosting the Entertainment City for the entire month of August. So that day we decided to have a look around.
What is the Entertainment City?
The Enterainment City is a huge indoor entertainment park. Due to the high temperatures that we have here during Summer all outdoor activities are drastically reduced. Despite people in the rest of the world who spend all the year waiting for summer, we are not so happy to welcome this season. The luckiest one can fly back home. Especially not working women with children. There are no reasons for them to spend the summer in Doha keeping their babies locked inside the house!
But not all families with children have the opportunity to spend the summer faraway from Qatar. So a great occasion to entertain your kids is the Entertainment City.
My husband and I don’t have kids but we were very curious to see which games were inside. The entrance ticket is 15qr. At the cash counter you can also buy a combo ticket that let you access to limited areas. The space is huge and there are many attractions but 99% of them are for kids only. If you are over 13 you might get bored.
However, my husband and I had fun playing at some games. It’s very easy to get access to games. There are ticket’s stations inside the Entertainment City where you can buy a rechargable card. I think we paid the card 10qr but I’m not totally sure. Anyway, once you own the card you can recharge them of the desired amount as many time as you want. Very easy!
There is a huge food area but we didn’t check it as we were coming from a brunch and we were super full! However I found my favorite station next to the food court. There is a machine where you can take funny pictures and then you can print them on a sticker paper. Of course, we took our own photos!
The Entertainment City is open till August 31st so you have still few days to check it out!
