A Romantic Floral Dress
The best time of the year to visit Lago Maggiore is certainly May and June. Verbania and all the towns around are in blooming. Massimo and I love going back home during this time of the year. Not every year we managed to come back so when we do we feel extra lucky.
We spent only four days in Italy but they were fabulous. Despite the crazy weather. I know that my body is now set on warmer temperatures but I didn’t expect to find such a freezing weather in May. Temperatures passed from 16 degrees to 24 degrees in less than 6 hours. It was a challenge to dress up. My husband got a cold in fact!
At the first ray of sunshine I decided to pull on this old dress which I still love a lot. It’s from the American brand Girl. by Band Of Outsiders. I honestly don’t even know if it exists anymore! I purchased the dress back in 2011 (if I remember well) and since then I have been wearing it each summer. It’s silk, so very fresh.
Another reason why I love going back home is to find my house full of delivered boxes 🙂 There are some websites which don’t ship to Middle East, like Topshop or Zara. So I still buy from these stores (also because European prices are cheaper) and then I ship everything to the Italian address. If you remember this post, I told you that I was going to order another pair of woven shoes. And here they are! These Topshop woven shoes are even more comfortable than the others I wore here. I ordered a size 39, it fits slightly big, but I never order smaller size on Topshop because I had a couple of experiences where the shoes came out very small. I’m a size 39 and I always stay sticked to it.
Again, I decided to pair the woven shoes with a straw bag and again I intentionally avoid to splurge on the bag. This bag is actually a real vintage treasure found last summer in my mom’s closet! As said before, you can simply wrap a silk scarf around the bag to make it look more sophisticated!
