Last week I attended to Amanda Wakeley FW18 presentation at B’more boutique in Mall of the Emirates.
I knew Amanda Wakeley only for the bridal collection, so when the PR approached me to invite me to the event I checked the brand’s website. It didn’t take me too long to fall in love with the collection.
Amanda Wakeley has a unique way to express the concept of femininity.
I love how she mixes femininity and masculinity. She playes with oversized suits, she reinvents the office wardrobe for #girlboss women. But she also celebrates romanticism with long bohemian dresses and lace details. Her collection is full of pieces with contemporary shapes, perfect for the woman who knows who she is.
In occasion of the show, Amanda Wakeley was kind enough to dress me. My first choice went straight on this silk tulle maxi dress. Then I spotted this striped jacket which I immediately thought it could be very cool if paired with a contrast pattern (but you could also co-ordinate with these trousers) .
Since I styled the striped jacket with a skirt, I decided to wear a belt to define my waist better. But I’m sure it would also be cool to emphasise the oversize factor styling it with a pair of trousers.
You know me, and you know that I always love mixing and matching different patterns. I feel I’m in my comfort zone when I mix polka dots and stripes.
The skirt that I wore with the Amanda Wakeley striped jacket is a current favourite of mine (you can see another way I styled it here). To add an even further element on this mix&match look I added a pair of polka dot slingback shoes (an old one from Zara).
I wouldn’t be myself without a touch of color. For once I preferred orange over pink. I honestly think I should give more credits to this colour now that I am tanned (thanks to all the Fridays spent at the beach).
