Maxi Blazer + Jacquard Floral Skirt
Skirts are something that really go with my style.
If I should list positive things about my life in Dubai the fact that I’m able to wear mini skirt again would probably be at the first place.
After spending the last 4 years building up a sort of modest wardrobe, I’m now happy to see mini skirts into my shopping cart again. Don’t get me wrong. You are allowed to wear skirts in Doha, but not everywhere. If you go to malls or public places it’s better to wear something more appropriate. If you go to hotels or clubs, you get a green light for shorter dresses.
Dubai is different, you can wear almost what ever you want where ever you are.
During the last months Topshop has been a fabulous source where to scout great skirts. I admit that Topshop mini skirts are really mini and I’m probably becoming too old to wear them. However I think that until when people won’t start to laugh at me I’ll keep wearing minis 🙂
Jokes a part, I absolutely love this little jacquard floral skirt with a paperbag waist detail. It has buttons on the front and it comes in a quite thick fabric. Next on my wishlist is this spot mini skirt and this summer checked mini kilt skirt (I mean, it’s a pink kilt!!).
Coming back to my outfit, I wore the jacquard floral skirt with a maxi blazer (similar here and here) that has been in my closet for a while and it’s one of my favourite jackets. It’s from Sandro and I bought in on sale a couple of seasons ago. It was the best purchase ever. It’s a staple jacket that has the power to bring on another level everything I paired it with.
Every girl should own at least one good tailored blazer jacket.
On the day I wore this look, Massimo and I went on JBR for a walk, so flat shoes were necessary. I bought these pointed ballerinas right before leaving for Italy. I’m obsessed with the color: a dark olive green. I personally think it matches perfectly with navy, creating a chic colour combo! Further, it’s a great SAVE option if you don’t want to splurge on an expensive pair of shoes like these or these.
To complete the outfit I added my mini python bag (which I’m bringing with me everywhere!), sunglasses and a bold lipstick in deep pink. It’s part of the new collection of Mattemoiselle by Fenty, in the shade “Candy Venom“. The texture is fantastic, very intense and long lasting (I ate pizza, drank coke and the lipstick was still there, at the right place!). The only note is that it’s not easy to apply since you have to be very precise and I’m usually not very good in it. Using a matching lip pencil helps me a lot.
