Travel Style Guide: What I Wore In Phuket
For the first time in many years I packed only the essentials for my holiday in Phuket. I’m proud of myself because I normally tent to overpack. The fact that I run a fashion blog doesn’t even help. I always have the fear that I might lose a chance to shoot amazing contents simply because I left that damn dress at home. It’s silly, I know, but this is how my job works.
However, this time I tried at my best to bring outfits that I could really wear, not only to take photos. Further, we changed three hotels in 8 days so I didn’t want to carry a heavy luggage around.
I thought to share with you the process I went through when I packed my luggage to Phuket putting together my Travel Style Guide.
TRAVEL STYLE GUIDE: WHAT I WORE IN PHUKET
I knew that we would have spent most of the time at the beach, so the first thing I wrote on my packing list were swimsuits. I brought 5 options. At least two of them were what I define “statement swimsuits” which means that they were more than a simple bikini or one-piece. Thanks to details or ruffles these swimsuits can easily be worn as a top, pairing with shorts or skirts, perfect from day to night. It’s a winning situation because you double your options bringing half of the clothes!
Here my favourite swimwear:
1.ASOS Red Gingham Print
2. Araks Black Single Shoulder Bikini Top
3.South Beach Bardot Neck Frill Swimsuit (currently ON SALE)
4.ASOS Faux Pearl Crop Bikini Top
5.L*Space Kimora One Piece
6.Missguided Tie Front Bikini Top
7.Vero Moda Frill Printed Bikini Top
8.Marysia Swim Asymmetrical Bikini Top
9.Monki Off Shoulder Frill Flamingo Bikini Top (ON SALE 17$)
& other stories T-shirt | K Jacques leather sandals | Dior sunglasses | Bobot straw bag
SHORTS AND SKIRTS
At this moment the weather in Phuket is 30 degrees, so I packed two pair of shorts and one denim skirt. The denim skirt is always a winning choice to go for. It’s very versatile, you can style it with basically everything. Shorts are practical and comfortable!
Here my favourite skirts and shorts:
1.Raw Hem Denim Shorts With Studs
2.Dark Wash Embroidered Denim Shorts
3.H&M Denim Shorts (the one I’m wearing here below and currently ON SALE)
4.High Waist Denim Shorts
5.H&M Black Denim Skirt
6.Button through denim skirt (my favourite style)
7.Moto tomato denim skirt (straight from my Wishlist)
8.Rebecca Minkoff Beatty Skirt (similar to the one I wore)
9.Scallop Hem Skirt
TOP & BLOUSE
Since I kept the bottom part pretty simple I played more with tops and blouses. I packed only two T-shirts which were very useful when I visited the Elephant sanctuary. Then I also put in the luggage three tops, one blouse and one long-sleeves shirt in linen which is absolutely perfect to be worn at the beach. It keeps you fresh and cool even under the sun!
My favourite tops:
Dresses are the easiest way to get dressed. I picked two maxi dresses. One is a new entry from Reformation, a brand that I have mixing feeling for (I’ll tell you everything in my upcoming post). It was a good choice because it looked nice worn at the beach and very sexy in the evening (a similar version available here)
The second dress is from a limited collection released by S*uce (you know, my favourite store in Dubai) in collaboration with Shoestova. This multiple layer dress is the perfect choice because each layer is removable. In one dress you have a maxi, midi and mini dress, plus a cropped top!

As I said in my Phuket Travel Guide, evenings were quite warm so I didn’t really need a jacket. However I suffer a lot the AC on the plane that I always put different layers on to keep myself warm and the denim jacket is definitely a life saver.
SHOES & BAGS
I carefully selected the accessories to bring to Phuket. Once I decided my outfits I tried to pick shoes that would have worked with all my looks. So, I packed a pair of K Jacques flat leather sandals, my favourite brand for summer shoes. They are very neutral, I wore them literally with every thing and every time. I brought a pair of flip flops but I ended to use my K Jacques at the beach too.
I left home all my designer bags. I only picked a maxi straw bag from Dubai-based brand Bobot (customised with my initials) and a cross body straw bag.
To conclude my Travel Style Guide few mentions about beauty products I put in the luggage.
First thing first to put in the beauty case is a sunblock cream 50+. The sun is very strong! I reduced my makeup at the minimal. Actually I never wore makeup except for lipsticks. I brought with me one from Tom Ford and Dior Addict Lip Tattoo (it’s long-wear). I also went for a different fragrance: AURA by Thierry Mugler. It’s a new entry in my beauty vanity and since it’s inspired by nature I thought it was the best scent to remember this holiday in Phuket with.
