Where To Do Home Shopping In Doha
Although this blog is more focused on fashion and beauty, which are my main passions, I like dedicating a blog post once in a while to home decor. I’ve been lived in 6 different houses in my life. Despite the stress that a move can bring I always get excited to have a new house to decorate. It’s like having a giant white canvas where to draw what you want.
I always update my Pinterest board called “Interiors“. My interior design style constantly changes, like my fashion closet does.
At the moment this moodboard perfectly represents how I see my dreamy house.
When I moved to Doha, 4 years ago (really?! where is the time gone?!), I initially lived in a full furnished apartment. I didn’t have a lot of space to play with. But after a couple of months we moved to a bigger villa which was basically unfurnished! That was the moment when all the fun started.
At least, this was what I thought.
I immediately had to face with the reality. At the time, Doha offered really few options in terms of home decoration. I was lucky because I moved to the country right after the opening of IKEA. But despite IKEA, Home Center and The One, there were any other options in town.
The recent openings of two huge malls, Mall Of Qatar and Doha Festival City, brought new brands entirerly dedicated to home decoration.
Where To Do Home Shopping In Doha
Last week I visited West Elm at Doha Festival City. Till few years ago the name West Elm wouldn’t have rung any bell to me. We don’t have West Elm in Italy. But I knew it thanks to few bloggers that I follow from Dubai. They often share sneak peeks of their office space or living room which are amazing. So I had big expectations from the newly opened store.
And West Elm didn’t disappoint me!
It took me like 10 minutes to completely fall in love with the entire showroom. Marble coffe tables, industrial furnitures, modern pieces with a vintage allure. An amazing collection of rugs and fabrics. Colorful dishawares. Lots of inspo about how to use plants and green as decoration.
I could list everything I was excited about in this article, but it would be endless. Of course, I left the store with a shopping bag in my hand. But also with a sense of excitement. I arrived at home and I immediately started to plan a makeover. I want to give a second life to my living room and I’m happy that I don’t have to compromise anymore between what I love and what I really can find.
West Elm brought a breath of fresh air in Doha and I couldn’t be happier about that!
