Purple Peacoat + Burgundy Culottes
“Are you really going to wear those two ugly colors together?“
This was what I asked to myself when I chose the outfit. I wasn’t really sure to match purple and burgundy because it’s a kind of weird mix, don’t you think? But, I don’t know, I tried this look on and I really liked it!
There is also another reason why I really liked the outfit. I’ve just spent the last three days eating everything I had in front of my view. “It’s Christmas, diet starts
tomorrow, in two days“. These were the words that I constantly repeated to myself as excuse. So I guess I might have gained few kilos – ARGH! While I’m starting a mini-diet for the next couple of days, all I want to wear now are loose and comfortable clothes 🙂
I had been looking for a new peacoat for a while. I wasn’t sure if I had to opt for a classic one like this navy coat (which was at the top of my favorites) or to go for something more funky. At the end the second option won because I found this purple peacoat at COS when I was in Dubai. The color is unconventional and it works perfectly with my style.
Unfortunately you can’t find the store in Qatar, but if you like purple color I also spotted this beautiful coat available online (and it’s on sale!).
Culotte pants are always my favorite choice during winter season. They are warmer than a skirt but they still let me show a little bit of legs. I bought those burgundy culottes two years ago and they are still in my closet.
You migh hate or love this style, but if you are a fan, these pants are definitely one of the best investment. I call them investment but this doesn’t mean you have to splurge your account. There are many affordable options out on the market. Mine are from Topshop for example.
Other pants that I really like are these in pale pink color and these in denim (very cool!!)
If velvet is one of the biggest trends of this season, a pair of Mary Jane shoes in velvet is definitely something that a fashion lover must have. After checking what the market offered, I bought these Marc Fisher velvet shoes (I wore the flat version here). They are really comfortable, the thick heel is perfect for walking around. Extra bonus: they are not expensive at all. With the current sale, these shoes cost less then 180qr.
So yes! When I wore this purple peacoat and the burgundy culottes I decided to be brave and to match these two ugly colors together. But the first fashion rule to follow is to have fun! Clothes are made to help you to express yourselves. Wear your choices with self-confident and everything will work perfectly.
