THE HEYA EVENT
Last Monday I finally managed to head over Heya. If you have been in Qatar for a while you certainly know Heya pretty well. Heya is one of the most important events in the country that brings together – under the same roof – local and international designers. When I mean international I really mean from all around the world. From the States to Australia.
The fair is arabic oriented and collections are mostly about modesty clothes. But trust me, even if you think that you wouldn’t be interested in taking a look you should visit Heya. First there are so many styles of abayas that they can really fit everyone. I saw a couple of colorful abayas that I would love to wear over a simple pair of jeans like a coat.
Then, the fair includes also many bag’s designers – and we all love bags right? -kaftan collections and beauty accessories.
Anyway, although the event is over now (we have to wait till the next edition, probably in April) I thought to share with you some of the designers that caught my attention.

This stand didn’t go unnoticed. First for the beautiful abaya collection and secondly for the amazing display! But I’m definitely not surprised about that. What if I tell you that the Qatari sisters behind the brand are already well know with the name of The Kayys?
Beside the abayas I spotted the cutest accessories ever: embroidered socks that can be customized upon client’s request. I loved them!

DORIS DOROTHEA
From Indonesia with love. These gorgeous bags come in luxury leathers as python, lizard and ostrich. The collection is a real rainbow. Colors are so beautiful that it’s hard to declare one as the favorite. The only solution might be that to collect them all!
You can share some love for the brand checking Doris Dorothea website.
STUDIO 8
Studio 8 is a multi brand store based in Dubai. The stand was pretty big with a wide variety of collections. I was immediately attracted by three abays – one pale pink, two black. Oh my god, they were beautiful. No, sorry beautiful is really not enough. They were incredible! A sort of piece of haute couture with shoulders embroidered by pearl. Unfortunately they were out of (my) budget.
The other collection displayed were very pretty too so Studio 8 is certainly a store to keep in mind, especially if you plan to pass by Dubai.
FAZZALI
Oh yes! I’m guilty. I did shopping. But honestly I couldn’t resist to Fazzali, a black and white brand from Egypt with the prettiest collection of shirts and collars. Initially I thought to get a collar but then I spotted a shirt – oversized fit – with ruffles at the bottom that had my name written all over. I can’t wait to show you how I’m going to style it.
If you are in the mood to share more love, check also Fazzali website.
ASIYAM
When I told you that there are designers from all around the world at Heya I wasn’t joke and here is the proof. Asiyam is an Australian brand! I adored the palette color of the collection, a mix of light brown, pale pink and pastel blue. The abayas can be paired with comfy oversized trousers. So Asiyam is a great brand to keep in mind if you are looking for comfy outfits for when you travel.
Don’t forget to check Asiyam website!
STYLE STORE
Last but not least, Style Store. Actually the first thing that cought my attention was a serie of funky t-shirts. Those tees made me stop at the stand, than abaya and kaftan collections took my heart. I didn’t manage to take many pics, except for this stunning kaftan. Can you spot me at Maldives wearing this fabulous and ultra chic kaftan? I defintely can picture myself in this image!
