3 Fashion Trends I Discovered This Week
Bandanas, statement knitwears, emboridered jeans. Are these words ringing you any bell?
Pinterest is my first source of inspiration. Second one is Instagram. I recently browsed my Pinterest’s homepage looking for some ideas when I noticed tons of pictures of girls wearing bandanas, statement knitwears and embroidered jeans. So I think that I might have found 3 fashion trends that you might want to wear right now.
TREND #1 – BANDANAS
I’m completely obsessed with this trend. I think bandanas are “eternally cool”. First, they are affordable (vintage bandanas are always the best). Further, they require a minimal input of effort from you to pull the chicest outfit together.
I did a little investigating on the ultimate cool-girl staple and I understood that there are many ways to style bandanas. If you are still not totally sure I put together a moodboard for you showing how this trend is being adopted by the coolest street stylers. So you can easily take inspo.
HOW TO STYLE: Bandanas inspire me rock-style looks. If you want to embrace this trend in your daily outfits, pick a lingerie-inspired dress, slung over the shoulder a leather denim jacket and then accessorize the look with your bandana. Tie it to you neck or at your bag’s belt. My favorite idea is to tie a bandana around your wrist or ankle. Trust me, this is a fashion editor-approved look!
TREND #2 – EMBROIDERED JEANS
Embroidered jeans have become the most loved choice of the stylish. We have to thank Gucci for bringing back this trend. These stonewashed denim jeans are already all over the most trendy online shopping destinations and they are going sold out pretty fast. So you must be ready to bring some indie details into your wardrobe.
Anyway. other than the fact that the whole of the world is obsessed with these jeans, this trend is not just for pants. I’ve spotted a couple of cool embroidered items in Zara latest collection. And yes, I’m guilty, I confess. Even with 45 degrees outside I’ve already bought an embroidered coat!
HOW TO STYLE: It might take a while to hunt down the perfect fit pair of emboridered denim. If you are on budget I highly recommend to check Topshop selection. I’ve recenlty spotted several models that really caught my attention. This one is definitely my favorite. Best worn with items that remind embroidery’s colors for a color-block outstanding look.
TREND #3 – STATEMENT KNITWEARS
We might be in the middle of summer but it’s never too early to look at autumn’s trends. A statement knit is definitely at the top of the list of items that we will want to wear in the next upcoming months.
Personally I consider statement knitwears a truly functional yet stylish trend. The cold season brings many challenges when it comes to create a wardorbe that let us archive our main goal to build a signature look. Every morning we fight between the need to wear something that keeps us warm and the wish to be stylish. A statement knit is definitely the master piece that elevates daytime look.
HOW TO STYLE: Magda Butrym’s statement knit is my favorite even if it might look dated. Doesn’t this fabric remind you what traditionally your grandmother used to give you for Christmas? Well, if you still have that knitwear somewhere in your closet, it’s time to take it out again and give it a makeover.
I’ve styled it with a midi skirt and sleveless shirt. I love the idea that the rouffled collar shows out from the knitwear, adding a further retrò touch to this look. For daytime I picked glitter mid-heel shoes. If your plans include a casual night slip into a pair of high heels, better if they are in velvet (see here why).
