How To Wear Suede Shoes
Midseason always calls for a specific trend: suede. A suede jacket is an evergreen. It will be always on trend. How many of you are wearing that suede jacket that owns to your parents? I have two suede trenches in my closet and both of them are vintage, worn by my mum in 70’s!
There are many ways to wear this trend, but defintely the best one is casual. And another tip that I can give is to wear only one item in suede mixed with other fabrics and colors. A total look is certainly very cool, and if you google “Suede Street Style” you can find many looks that are simply amazing. But it’s more difficult to wear suede in this way and most of the time the result is “too much”!
Normally I love mixing suede with denim and white cotton. The combo suede with a denim shirt is also a thumbs up choice. It reminds a little bit the country look but without being a cowgirl which would be too much, especially if you live in the City. But if you are up for a country style, choose something with fringes (like a jacket) and keep the rest of the look in black.
I think my favourite uniform is always the same: a suede jacket, a pair of classic jeans and sneakers on my feet. Easy. Comfy. Stylish enough.
But which are the trends for SS16?
Recently, during one of my online session where I checked new collections, I noticed that this spring the must have seems to be a pair of SUEDE SHOES in natural leather color. Many designers inserted them in their collections. Sneakers, boots, wedges, loafers, heels, there are really thousands of options for SS16.
I made my top 3 picks which are Tabitha Simmons sandals at first place, Saint Laurent boots at the second place and Saint Laurent mocassins at the third one.
After making this selection I thought to put together three looks that highlight this new season’s trend. Of course with the help of my favorite assistant, Mrs B.!
Look 1. This outfit includes three items from the latest Givenchy Spring collection. An animalier printed shirt (I love the green color!!), a denim mini-skirt and that gorgeous handbag. And of course my favourite suede shoes, these Tabitha Simmons sandals.
Look 2. To create this outfit, Mrs B. and I played with denim, mixing Dries Van Noten medium washed denim jacket with a light denim pair of shorts (from Isabel Marant) and the Dries Van Noten shoulder bag. No heels for this look but a pair of loafers.
Look 3. You can never be wrong with a pair of jeans and a classic roundneck pullover, respectively from the latest collection of Miu Miu and Simone Rocha. To be as much as classic as you can choose a black bag. And then… suede shoes!!
