New Year In Tulum
For the new year, we flew to Cancun, in Mexico. Once arrived we met with a couple of friends and we moved together to Tulum in the Riviera Maya. We stayed in this city for one week spending a wonderful time. This wasn’t my first time in Mexico. I went there once with my parents when I was young. Very young. Maybe I was 11 years old. So of course I didn’t have many memories but I perfectly remembered the beauty of Maya pyramids, Chichen itza and the gorgeous sea.
This time I was again impressed by the majestic pyramid at Chichinitza and by the amazing feeling to swim with giant turtles (yes we did it!). But I was also shocked by the beauty of small shops and traditional handcrafts, by the delicious food (contrary of what we think Mexican food isn’t so spicy) and I was pleasantly surpised by the wonderful and warm hospitality that we received from Mexican people.
Tulum is a touristic destination. Especially for American people. But I liked this kind of tourism. People are really chilling, the dress code is always boho style and restaurants are unique. Small food heavens located in the middle of Mexican jungle. Literally!
Tulum is also very colorful. I forced myself to not stop the car (or bike) at any corner to take picture of the bright buildings and murals that decorate the entire city. They are beautiful! In fact I said that I didn’t stop at any corners but at least at half of them! We took many shots in front of all murals especially beacuse I believe that they perfectly represent the town with their images and colors.
So I put together a virtual tour in Tulum to show you the beauty of Mexico through all these incredible pieces of street art. I hope you will love them as much as I did.
